Dinner Recommendations
Here at Franklin Manor, we often get asked, "Where do you recommend to eat?"
Fortunately for you, we have done our own personal research and here are our top picks.

Left Bank Café (Saranac Lake)
Upscale / Comfortable Atmosphere
You would never imagine finding the most amazing French restaurant in the heart of a mountain town. Walking distance from Franklin Manor, Left Bank sits in the middle of downtown Saranac Lake. The menu is thoughtfully created and the food is made with love. Another favorite of ours for romantic evenings, we highly recommend reservations so you don't miss out!

The Fiddlehead Bistro (Saranac Lake)
Upscale / Comfortable Atmosphere
This local restaurant is fine dining and farm to table all in one. Walking distance from Franklin Manor, this romantic and quaint favorite is one that we reserve for our special occasions and date nights. Reservations are recommended, and the menu does change frequently, sometimes as much as daily.

Jimmy's 21 (Lake Placid)
Casual Atmosphere
If you don't mind the short drive to Lake Placid, or if you are already there visiting the Olympic tributes, this is another special occasion and romantic date night spot for us! They have homemade pasta made in house, and their lasagna is ridiculous! Reservations are recommended, and if you can, request a table with a view!

The Interlaken Inn  (Lake Placid)
Upscale / Date Night Atmosphere
The Interlaken Inn & Restaurant, built in 1912, is a charming century‑old Victorian retreat situated just steps from Mirror Lake and Lake Placid’s Main Street. Inside, you’ll find cozy, elegantly furnished dining rooms, a warm bar/lounge, and intimate spaces—including a Tuscan-style wine room and porch seating in fine weather. The menu offers a refined take on classic American and Adirondack‑inspired dishes, often with Creole flair, including items like French onion soup, Maine lobster rolls, and Black Angus burgers—perfectly paired with regional wines .

Bitters & Bones (Saranac Lake)
Casual Atmosphere
Walking distance from Franklin Manor, Bitters & Bones is the definition of a Gastropub. The environment is laid back, frequently has live music, and has craft beer made onsite. During the summer months, we really enjoy sitting on the rooftop deck!

Little Italy (Saranac Lake) **cash only
Casual Atmosphere

Little Italy is a cozy, family-owned Italian restaurant known for its delicious New York–style and Sicilian pizzas, hearty pastas, and classic comfort food. With a casual, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a local favorite for both dine-in and takeout. Bonus, shortest walking distance from the manor!

Casa del Sol (Saranac Lake)
Casual Atmosphere
A vibrant Central American eatery with a beloved 30‑plus year history in the Adirondacks. This local, family owned restaurant serves up hearty enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, margaritas, and more in a casual, festive atmosphere.
Ideal for a relaxed dinner after a day exploring the lakes, Casa del Sol brings both flavor and character to your Adirondack Experience.

Salt of the Earth  (Lake Placid)
Upscale / Date Night Atmosphere
If you are looking for a dining experience, we would have to say that this is it! Located in a century old house Lake Placid, this small restaurant is where culinary artistry meets immersive dining. Rather than simply serving dishes, the team curates a multi-course tasting menu that takes diners on a gastronomic adventure through a symphony of flavors, textures, and aromas. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a culinary adventure, we highly recommend Salt of the Earth as part of your Adirondack experience. The menu does frequently change and reservations are highly recommended!
