Why Franklin Manor
A historic home, genuine hospitality, and a different way to experience the Adirondacks.
More Than a Place to Stay
Franklin Manor offers something increasingly difficult to find: the chance to stay within a genuine historic home while experiencing the Adirondacks at your own pace.

A Home With a Story
Built in 1896, Franklin Manor has lived many lives while retaining the craftsmanship and character that make it remarkable today.
From its beginnings as a grand Victorian residence to its years as a home to a community of Carmelite nuns, the house carries more than a century of stories within its walls. Today, guests are invited to experience that history not from behind a velvet rope, but by actually living within it for a little while.
Room to Settle In
Franklin Manor isn't designed around a lobby and a hallway of rooms. Guests are welcome to enjoy the character-filled shared spaces of the manor—from quiet sitting rooms and the library to the broad front porch.
Find a favorite chair, linger over a book, play a game, or simply enjoy a slower evening after a day outside. The manor is meant to feel like a place you can actually settle into, rather than somewhere you simply sleep.

At the Heart of Saranac Lake
Franklin Manor gives you the best of both worlds: a quiet place to retreat and a walkable connection to Saranac Lake. Restaurants, cafés, shops, parks, and Lake Flower are just a short stroll from the manor.
Beyond town, the Adirondacks unfold in every direction. Hiking trails, paddling, scenic drives, and Lake Placid are all within easy reach—giving you the freedom to make each day as adventurous or as unhurried as you'd like.
Hospitality With a Personal Touch
A stay at Franklin Manor is meant to feel personal without feeling programmed. Mornings begin with a thoughtfully prepared breakfast, while the rest of the day is yours to enjoy however you choose.
Whether you're looking for a favorite hiking trail, a place to paddle, somewhere special for dinner, or simply a quiet corner of the Manor to unwind, we're here to help you make the most of your time in the Adirondacks.
